Day and Overnight Programs
for Schools and Other Organizations
The old ways of our grandparents are quickly
disappearing. Few from our modern world can
leave the neon lights of our cities and walk with
confidence into the woods. Our workshops and
presentations strive to restore that confidence, to
reinstill the self sufficiency that was once such an
integral part of the lives of our forefathers. Our
instructional programs range from one-half hour
lectures to extended camps held at your location or
ours. Participants are exposed to the structures,
clothing, accouterments, crafts and skills of early
Native America. Our lodges are furnished with
numerous reproductions of items used hundreds of
years ago.   Step back in time and enjoy our hand
hewn log cabin, our eighteen foot Plains-style tipi, or
experience our Eastern-Woodland style mat and
bark covered wigwam. Be warmed by our fire and
observe our demonstrations or choose to get
hands-on experience in creating functional objects
using the methodologies and tools of our ancestors.

Make rivercane flutes and panpipes, leather
moccasins and clothing, wooden bowls and
spoons. Make string and rope by cording bark.
Form pottery from native clays and fire it in a
campfire. Identify wild plants. Erect and live in tipis
and other shelters. Throw a tomahawk. Learn
Indian bead and quill work.  Weave baskets from
grasses and other materials or fold one out of bark.
Braid a hat from cattail.  Make fire with friction.
Leave the workshop with beautiful items you have
created from materials foraged from the natural
world around you.
